About The Authors

Linda ONeal
Co-author and successful private investigator Linda ONeal cut her writing teeth in the legal profession writing hundreds of detailed criminal investigation reports for defense attorneys with a special emphasis in homicide issues. Her hands-on experiences with dozens of gritty cases added a unique texture to her perspective that proved invaluable for this book. Before becoming a private eye Linda spent ten years with the Washington County, Oregon Sheriffs Department, eventually working her way up the bureaucratic ladder to head the creation of the first 911 system established in her county. She developed many law enforcement relationships during those years, as she became an expert in all aspects of emergency communications management. Linda has worked as a fraud investigator for a major American bank and as a chief investigator for a former Portland Oregon district attorney who specialized in defending high profile murder cases. It was those experiences in fact, that paved the way for her to launch her private practice, which she continues to run successfully today. Linda frequently lectures about her techniques, has taught various criminal investigation courses at The College of Legal Arts, and is continually used as a qualified source by reporters eager to absorb her unique approach to solving murder cases. She has been invited several times by the producers of the Maury Povich TV show to discuss her surveillance operations. She is also step-grandmother to one of the murdered girls, Ashley Pond.
